Invasive disease: infectious disease where symptoms because of micobes growing in what, in a healthy host, is a sterile site

invasion factors: chemicals produced by pathogens that allow those pathogens to get into normally sterile tissue

Toxigenic disease: Microbes growing in normally not-sterile site, producing "toxin that causes symptoms in host.

Exotoxin: protein expressed by actively-growing bacteria that causes symptoms
Endotoxin: Lipid A of LPS
not secreted, just part of gram - bacteria membrane. Can only be released if that bacteria dies.
