Professional emails

Hello everyone,

Here is a sample of any email to a professor at another university in case any of you ever needed to communicate professionally.

Doctor Iannelli,
I am microbiology student at Morningside College in Iowa, in the United States of America. I am hoping to work with my colleagues on a research project with MSa bacteriophage. We are interested in studying the phage’s ability to kill Staphylococcus aureus isolates from asymptomatic carriers, including Methicillin-Resistant S. aureus strains. Through my literature review I found your article, “NAME OF ARTICLE” in the December 2006 issue of NAME OF JOURNAL. I was wondering if you might be able send me some of your MSa bacteriophage along with a protocol for culturing them and for freezing back MSa bacteriophage cultures. My colleagues and I at Morningside College would of course acknowledge your contributions in any future publication of our research.
I have copied my research adviser, Dr. Rachel Robson, on this e-mail as she would probably need to help coordinate shipping phages.
Thank you for your time. We very much appreciate your assitance.
Sincerely,
Jessica Kuhr

Of course you would modify it to your own needs
