-how do they move?
proton pump H+ are pumped across the plasma membrane of bacteria
only uncharged molecules can move across a plasmic membrane. The protons are trapped between cell wall and the plasma membrane becasue H+ are possibly exchanged (cant get hydrophobic parts): protons can fall across gase in flagellar basal body- this spins the basal body spinning the flagellum (sort of like a water wheel).

Don't forget that the H+ attach to an Oxygen
