Factors that influence bacterial growth rates
Bacteria need to live in an aqueous environment
cell envelope stuff protects bacteria from osmotic pressure
there is some turn over in cell envelope components
bacterial cell walls help make the bacteria more resistant to osmotic pressure than eukaryotic cells
if the cell wall is broken down/compromised then the bacteria are not more resistant to osmotic stress than our eukaryotic cells
