Proteins get denauted in heat, things are killed but dna still lives
s. pneumoniae bacteria can cause pneumonia and blood infections in people and in mice
some are able to produce capsules made of polysaccarides and some done
ones with capsule look glossy on agar and kill mice
ones without capsule look rough and don't kill mice
