Kinds of RNA

I. mRNA (messenger RNA)
- single stranded RNA copy of DNA gene, will be translated to amino acid sequence
- short lived= exist for seconds to minutes

II. tRNA (tranfer RNA)
- involved in translation of mRNA to amino acid chain: clover leaf structure
- long lived- exist for days to weeks

III. rRNA (ribosomal RNA)
- main component of ribosomes
- ribosomes: where translation occurs
- long lived= exist for days to weeks
