Changes I would make:
"The direct contact of the diaphragm or bell of the stethoscope to a patient’s skin could harbor a mode of transmission of virulent bacterium from patient to patient."
"Results found that an 112 (75%) did not clean stethoscopes daily; of the stethoscopes not disinfected, 133 (89%) were contaminated with the Staphylococcus group bacteria." [idk if this is really necessary but i have seen this done in other articles]
Idk why you focus on MRSA so much in your background. in my opinion you should just mention MRSA as one of the bacteria that was found, not go too in depth.
"In a [single-blind] single-blinded study, 92 stethoscopes were tested in a pre-wash period and a post-wash period, where colony counts were much lower after being cleansed with an alcohol based foam wash."
"also, the program would mandate required alcohol wipe dispensing stations." mandate and require is the same thing, so idk why you put both in their?
"The washing procedure will be required before and after every shift change." why only at shift changes? Aren't multiple patients seen during a single shift? how would washing the stethoscope only after shift changes help stop the spread of bacteria from patient to patient during a single shift?
"The second part of implementation would include the usage of stethoscope isolation system. This system involves the use of a disposable sleeve encasing the diaphragm and the tubal body of the stethoscope."
So why do you wash the stethoscope and have a cover for it? isnt that kinda a waste of money? also why do people need to be educated every 6 months? i think this is a rather simple concept to grasp.
"Required alcohol wipe dispensing stations will be built onto the walls of hallways in which patient care is administered, nursing stations, and in emergency response vehicles. By providing the alcohol wipes, healthcare professionals and emergency response personal will clean stethoscopes regularly throughout the shift further decreasing bacterial transfer." so now you have the staff wash the stethoscopes with alcohol foam, put plastic over on them and wipe them down? again isnt that overkill, and a waste of money? Also the first word [required] doesn't need to be there.
"The alcohol based washed will be located at the same sink that people wash their hands at during a shift change." Fail, the alcohol based wash [or foam]
"Many patients arrive at the hospital with an unrelated condition to MRSA," Many patients arrive at the hospital with a condition unrelated to MRSA.
"In conclusion, the stethoscope isolation system, alcohol based foam washing, and the alcohol dispensing stations, long term,[remove] will reduce costs of patient care and save time from treating nosocomical infections."
