I agree Jessica. In order to make a better decision regarding our findings we do need to look at the results the other lab class. Even though that would give us an even better understanding it still would not be enough to confidently say without a doubt that one is better than the other, but it would give us a general idea.

Section 3 lab

So, unlike the other 2 labs, the third lab had totally different results. There was more bacteria on the Post hand washing + gel plates than on the just gel alone! AND in some cases there seemed to be more bacteria on the plates Post hand washing!

Well, that just makes things confusing. Did your section wash hands before adding the gel or viceversa. We washed hands then added gel for the gel + handwashing. Looks like we have some re-evaluating to do.

And, on your last statement… does that mean that you guys also had a group of people that just washed hands with no gel?

I think that we should have all done a group with just handwashing and compared that to handwashing + gel and just gel. Maybe when people handwashed some may have washed longer or scrubed them better compared to others. More testing would need to be done to decide what is better. This would be interesting to figure out and give data to hospitals, since alot of nurses and doctors do just use hand gel between patients.
