Fixing slides

Two ways of fixing your material to your slides:
Heat Fixing- Run your slide through the flame three times at a moderate pace
Methanol Fixing- Soak your entire area with methanol and let sit for 2 minutes
-methanol fixing is more idea for viewing purposes because heat fixing can distort your bacteria shapes :)

when you methanol fix make sure the whole area is completely air dried, not just sitting for a 2 minute time period.

Honestly, if you got enough bacteria onto your slide then you don't need to worry about it being completely dry… just be gentle.
