Confounding factors: Association between exposure and disease maybe not because of the exposure perse, but because of a third factor related to the exposure you're studying.
Etiology: Study of causation.
Ecologic fallacy: Assumption that every one in a given environment has the same exposures. Applies when your comparing populational data (x-axis) to individual outcome (y-axis).
Necessary: Don't have, won't have the outcome.
Sufficient: Enough to cause the outcome. In order for a thing to cause another.
